Field Trips: Charles Lindbergh House and Museum
Discover the childhood home of Charles A. Lindbergh, the famed environmental activist, inventor, and aviation pioneer.
Field trip experience
“The “Boy’s Life” tour of the childhood home of Lindbergh focuses on the many chores Lindbergh did as a young boy. Students are encouraged to participate in the hands-on activities offered throughout this tour.
The “Eagle’s Wings” program is the retelling of the story of Lindbergh’s decision to attempt the flight to Paris and discusses his plan for navigation over the Atlantic using dead reckoning. Students complete this activity with time to explore the museum.
Lindbergh’s last career in life was as an environmentalist and our “On the Trail” program focuses on Lindbergh’s love of the land. This activity is a photograph scavenger hunt along the Mississippi River. Students walk the trails looking for flora and fauna that was on the site when Lindbergh was a young boy and create a take-home reusable bag.
