Field Trips: Sibley Historic Site
Visit the Sibley Historic Site, home to the oldest structures still standing in Minnesota. From the center of the fur trade to the center of government, this site witnessed some of the key people and events at play in the tumultuous history of the early days of Minnesota statehood.
Sibley Historic Site is managed by Dakota County Historical Society in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society. To book your field trip, email sibleyhistoricsite@mnhs.org.

Students learn about Minnesota's past through the lens of Henry Sibley's life, including history of the fur trade, and U.S.-Dakota relations in early Minnesota.

Billing and cancellation
The field trip experience to Sibley Historic Site is free, but you are still required to reserve your visit at least 2 weeks in advance. Please email sibleyhistoricsite@mnhs.org at least 14 days before your scheduled field trip, if you need to cancel.
