Also Ojibwa, Ojibway, or Chippewa. Among the largest groups of Native Americans–First Nations north of Mexico. They are divided between Canada and the United States. According to some traditions, many Ojibwe came from the eastern areas of North America eventually arriving in the Lake Superior area.

A Canadian national order that is the second highest honor for merit.
