Henry Sibley

A fur trader, businessman, Minnesota's first governor, and the military commander during the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862. Also involved in treaties with the Dakota, he was instrumental in perpetrating battle, trials, exile, and punitive expeditions against the Dakota people.
