No Accident Week in Minneapolis; Boy Scouts direct traffic.
1920
The St. Paul City Council passes an ordinance authorizing the creation of a school police force. Frank Hetznecker takes charge of the school patrol as part of the St. Paul Police.
1921
On February 21, the Cathedral School's school police guide students across the corner of Summit Avenue and Third Street (Kellogg Boulevard).
1926
Hetznecker introduces Sam Browne belts to the school police.
1936
A uniform program of training and support for the school patrol participants was created by the American Legion at the request of Earle Brown, the first Chief of the Minnesota Highway Patrol.
1945
The founders of the school patrol are publicly honored.
1950
Frank Hetznecker retires from the police force.
1954
Sister Carmela retires from teaching.
