History professionals from across the state, including staff from MNHS's Heritage Preservation, Planning & Outreach took part in training to respond to water disasters in museum collections. The training was offered through a partnership with the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums and the History Center of Olmsted County, the Kandiyohi County Historical Society, and the Beltrami County Historical Society. Heritage Preservation Grants

shared-workforceHeritage Partnership Program
Shared Workforce is one of four categories of partnerships the Heritage Partnership Program can fund. Partners may individually have similar needs that do not warrant the hiring of full-time staff or contractors, but aggregating those functions for a temporary supplemental staff person or contractor might allow for a more intentional treatment of similar historic resources for greater public benefit. The funding for Shared Workforce is a one-time source of funding to enable a partnership to dramatically increase its capacity for a specified time period or to test the idea of a shared workforce among partners. The application must thoroughly demonstrate that the partnership has carefully planned how to evaluate success and sustain a shared workforce beyond the grant period. The mandatory pre-application deadline for Heritage Partnership Program Grants is Friday, January 26, 2024. Learn more »

Is that fundable? This question comes up with food, marketing, landscaping and many other things. Things that make you go, Hmm. How do you know what you can and cannot do with a grant? If an expense needs to be reasonable and justified, how do you make that judgment call? We will talk about that. Presented by Grants Specialist John Fulton
