Horse-Drawn Trolley Tours

Meet our big, gentle draft horses and climb aboard a horse-drawn trolley for a guided tour of the Forest History Center!
Great Northern Forest History Tour
Take a 60-minute, horse-drawn trolley tour narrated by interpreters presenting a robust historical story of our site. Some of the topics covered are the transformation of the Mississippi River, logging and forest management, and early people of the region including native groups as well as early European settlers. Other cultural and environmental history stories of the Northwoods are presented. Site admission included with ticket purchase.
Participant eligibility
- Those 17 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- Participants must be able to climb two steps (this activity is not handicapped accessible), and be comfortable getting onto and off of the horse-drawn trolley independently.
Weather
- The trolley tour will take place, rain or shine.
- If we need to cancel due to weather conditions or other unsafe circumstances there will be a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule.
