About the event
Three workshops around Minnesota will offer users the chance to learn the basics of editing Wikipedia in a stress-free environment. Work alongside others and discover how easy editing Wikipedia can be. Whether you’ve used Wikipedia for your own searches and wondered how the information gets added, or you want new ways to share your community's history, this workshop will leave you feeling confident about editing the world's largest encyclopedia.
The class includes instruction and demonstration on topics such as editing Wikipedia and using its editing tools, understanding Wikipedia culture and policies, and learning about Wikipedia's sister sites, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata.
Seasoned Wikipedia editing pros are also invited to attend and edit Wikipedia articles, this workshop can help you build new skills.
These workshops are part of the Minnesota Historical Society's overall commitment to the Minnesota local history community. Led by Local History Services.
