Chantel Rodríguez:
History doesn't only exist in the pages of a book. History exists all around us. You just have to dare to look. When you're out and about, do you wonder, "Why is that mural here?," or, "Why is that sign bolted to the side of the building?"
Dave Kenney:

Chantel Rodríguez:
My name is Chantel Rodriguez. I'm a historian and the host of Minnesota Unraveled, a podcast from the Minnesota Historical Society. We are taking a journey across the North Star state, taking a look around us and asking questions that pull us into the past.
News Clip (1950s- Grainy sounding):
I think that that's the beauty of murals is that they become part of a community.
Chantel Rodríguez:
Our guests will offer expert insights on fallout shelters, meatpacking and migration. We'll discuss bison conservation and investigate the history of better baby contests at the Minnesota State Fair, plus so much more.
Ferin Anderson:
We view bison as the relative, as our relative, and so that's where you build relationships
Chantel Rodríguez:
Together, we'll interweave guest expertise with sources and make connections that add mention to our evolving tapestry of Minnesota history. History isn't always easy, but it helps us to better understand our place in this world and learn about the threads that bind us together.
Elaine May:
Maybe there is a connection between social history and political history. Maybe there's a connection between public life and private life. Who knew? Right?
Chantel Rodríguez:
So go on, pull the thread. You might discover something about yourself, your community, or this place so many of us call home. Coming soon from the Minnesota Historical Society, Minnesota Unraveled, pulling the threads of Minnesota history. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
