ST. PAUL, Minn (November 19, 2024) – Let’s deck the halls at the James J. Hill House and the Alexander Ramsey House, and visitors are invited to tour the beautiful buildings while attending unique historic holiday celebrations this winter.

The James J. Hill House is bringing back the popular Holidays on the Hill, a delightful holiday celebration that allows guests to experience Christmas as it was in 1910. Visitors will have the chance to explore the elegantly decorated Gilded Age mansion, enjoying seasonal festivities both upstairs and downstairs. Tours start November 30 and continue every Thursday through Sunday until January 5.

The Alexander Ramsey House is holding Candlelight Christmas Tours, where guests will experience the bluer side of the holidays as they are guided by candlelight through the 1872 mansion. The melancholy tour will explore unique holiday artifacts and hearing excerpts from the Ramsey family papers. The first day of tours is December 5, and the last day is December 27.

Tickets for both tours are now on sale. You can find more information on all of the events happening at the Minnesota Historical Society’s network of sites at mnhs.org/events.
