Livestream starts: 4:30 pm CST

Split Rock Lighthouse invites you to join in witnessing the powerful annual Edmund Fitzgerald Beacon Lighting Memorial, which commemorates the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald freighter and the loss of the 29 crew members aboard on November 10, 1975.

At 4:30 pm, a ceremony will commence by reading the names of the crew to the tolling of a ship’s bell, with a rendition of the Naval Hymn. Following the ceremony, the beacon will be lit. This memorial is open to on-site visitors and will also be streamed via Minnesota Historical Society's YouTube page and Split Rock Lighthouse's Facebook page
