About This Event
Maintaining good health has always a primary concern at Fort Snelling throughout its long history. Join us as we explore medical treatments and theories that shaped history throughout the site.
At the historic fort, hear about the medical care for the soldiers and the challenges they experienced. Check out the new Civil War Field Hospital display and much more. At 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, there will be a vignette presentation in the Hospital Ward Room to demonstrate the challenges a garrison physician faced.
In the Visitor Center—once an outpatient clinic after WWII—hear about stories of those who lived at the post and the work done to care for veterans. Take some time to explore the Many Voices, Many Stories, One Place exhibit to learn about General Hospital 29.
Outdoors, you'll walk through the restored prairie to learn about plants and their importance to Native Americans.
