Gentlemen: Your inquiry regarding Carl J. A. Hammerberg #5148 has been referred to me by my company and in reply will say that about Hammerberg. Worked for me as helper on machine work in 1916 & 1917, and while here was a fairly good boy and seemed to be attending to his business and behaving himself and was always on time to his work—he did no have a tendency to be scrappy with his fellow employees, was in his place on all occasions and obeyed orders, and was very willing to execute them. After war broke out he quit here and since then I have lost track of him until this affair cropped up.
Yours very respectfully
N. A. Talafous Supt
